Under the Connecticut General Statutes, a municipal water utility’s bill has the same status as municipal taxes. Therefore, the final water bill for an account must be accounted for during the closing. Enclosed is the final bill for this account. The final balance (debit or credit) on this account (including the final bill and related charges) will be transferred to the new owner’s account. The transferred balance will appear as an opening balance on the new account. All attorneys are advised to review the ENCLOSED FINAL BILL and make the appropriate adjustments at closing.
